Knock knock.. What is the world.. Who is that at the door at this hour?

It’sssss FLUTTERING.

People this is not a drill. This is the real deal. It’s time.. it’s time.. it’s time.. 

it is that wonderful time of year (well at least the precursor to it) when we invite every single one of you to not just be sorry but to BE ACTIVE. Fluttering allows everybody to share the facts and raise money.. and the kicker… (are you ready? get ready..) IT’S FUN. (buy me buy me buy me)

boom. yea that just happened.

 

“Wait.. so Libby you are telling me. I can raise money and awareness and enjoy it?”

you betcha.. Here is how it all began.. Less than 3 years ago. .. Wow. 

“But I don’t know 30 people to flutter”

-no prob Bob. You just need to know one person to Flutter and THEY choose where you take the dragonflies next. Its honestly a bit of a struggle for those control freaks like me! But also part of the fun. 

“But I don’t have time every night for all of September.”

-We got you covered!  You can share a kit. I do. You can do every other day.. or switch off weeks.. Or like I do we just text each other addresses when we can’t move the kit and trade off that way. Here is where I wrote about it our first year. You can see how the entire thing has evolved over time, mostly from feedback from those that Flutter with us. 

“But I work nights.. “

-Geez you really are one to stick to the rules huh?!? You can Flutter anytime night OR day. 

“That’s kinda a lot of money for me.”

-Totally get that. We want Fluttering to be accessible for everybody. Once you raise $250 we can reimburse you. And most people raise that much in just a few nights! And here is a link to tell you about a few of the incredible minds Unravel supports. 

“I feel like I live at work. Do you have a office option?”

Oh Libby you amazing woman you.. I Fluttered last year and can’t wait to do it again. But I still have my dragonflies.. Can I use them again pretty please.

-Well with manners like that how can we say no. We have 2 booster kit options for you paperwork only go here and if you need a replacement dragonfly or two or six, go here.

I have a child that does or did have cancer.. Can I flutter in their honor?

-This matters to me. So much. Yes. A big ole bucket of Yes.

You can and so can your friends and family. Your child’s name and picture. Their story and website/FB page/Fundraising page.. Whatever feels right. We can create paperwork specifically for YOUR child (or the child you love) to download and include with your kits’ paperwork on every door that you and your people buy.

My daughter mattered. And so does your child. I hope having the ability to introduce them and their face/story to 30+ new people in the month of September will be as beneficial to you as it is to us. I wrote about it here for Fluttering year 1. 

“Ok so I like reading your blog. And I try to support when I can. But getting my kids involved makes me nervous for them. what if it scares them.”

-I think it does the opposite. It makes them feel empowered. That they have the capability to raise money and help sick kids. It really can be that simple .. and powerful. But don’t take my word for it. Go to our Facebook group and find out for yourself from the people that have participated.
