Jaylin
Jaylin, age 10, ran a coin drive at her school to raise money for Unravel! She did this in honor of her nephew, Emilio, who was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma 4S. Jaylin proposed the idea of collecting change to make a change for pediatric cancer. Within months, the school challenge was on and the classes that raise the most money would get an ice cream party. She made buckets to collect change, talked to students, presented at assemblies about the fundraiser and helped deliver facts about pediatric cancer. She met with the principal often, worked on a flier, and thanked the winning classes with Emilio in her arms. Her school was able to raise $864 in change thanks to Jaylin’s advocacy skills and the principals willingness to promote this cause so near and dear to Jaylin!
