Here is the event in photos!! It was amazing. I met some amazing people. Ran my best time. And enjoyed seeing my boys happy. Thanks so much to Arms Wide Open for giving us this opportunity.
My niece and her friend gave up the better part of a Sunday to run our booth!
Some of my family that came out to support us and took care of our kids so Tony and I could do the run.
Friends new and old came out to support us. It meant so much to see people from our current lives and our past .. as well as meeting new people that have come to care for us.
Pumping up a nervous Jonathan for his big moment!
Holding his hand gave both of us comfort..
Sharing a little bit about us. This park… the run we took literally backs up to my house.I find it almost terrifying that I had no idea a pediatric cancer run took place just a year ago.. let along the desperate need for the funds. I was honored to be a part of it.
Some of the amazing crowd. I think it was over 450 people registered for the run!! More than double the runners from last year. Glitter squad in full effect.. . hope to do the same next year.
p.s Check out how beautiful our town is.. a great place to live… and run 🙂
The moment he had been waiting for.. he was soo excited and nervous. Practiced with Charlottes mic for days! On your marks. Get set. GO! He nailed it… I love this boy.
My mom… just because she hates her picture taken… but I love seeing how proud she is.
Our new shirts. I love them!! Want one??
Jonathan finishing the kids run… he did the whole thing. We were shocked. His cousin stayed with him the whole time. You can also see the great face painting that was included in the event.. and his firefighter sticker!
Nicholas finishing strong! Wearing the shirt that Jonathan designed for them.
Daddy and Nicholas…very far behind the rest of the little ones in the kids run… still being cheered on to the finish! Such a sense of community at this event.
We made Charlotte a shirt too!
Nobody saw it since she was perfect in her stroller most of the day. A great big Nicholas brother helps that..The selfless organizer of the event!! (and me) ((and Charlotte))
My kids…
My family…
I almost love this picture…
almost.
Almost.
I’ll be there again next year… with a pink sparkly tutu. 🙂
Thank you for sharing Libby. Thank you. So sad I missed it.
Oh, one more thing. I know how desperately you were hoping to feel her there…I SO hope you did!
<3
What a wonderful event. And what an amazing force for good you are.
My entire family had such an amazing time at the 5k, and I’m so happy I was finally able to give you that hug I’ve been wanting to give you for so long now. Those dodge-ball games at the end were especially hilarious, I think that was probably the most I’ve “worked out,” in months!
I’ll be sporting my new loveforJLK shirt tomorrow at work (and yes, they are SUPER cute! And glittery. Perfect). I still think about your family constantly, whether its a song on the radio, something someone has said, a picture, the list goes on and on. You are always on my heart, and I pray you’ll keep finding that renewed faith, no matter how hard it may be to see at times.
Both you and Jennifer, together, are doing amazing things, Libby. An absolutely perfect team. Thank you so much for letting us be a part of it.
<3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
Thanks for posting, I was rooting for everyone!
I was so honored to be there in you and your family’s presence. It was a great honor to remember Jennifer. We will do it again next year and the year after that and the year after that…Im going to do my part in this fight against pediatric cancer. In anyway I can. For Jennifer, for every child foghting for their life. Thankyou Libby for opening my eyes for helping me see and so many others see. Change is coming. And a huge huge part of it is because of you and your beautiful amazing Jennifer. We love you ♡♡♡♡♡♡
Looks like it was an amazing event! I was so sad to have missed it because of work, so thank you for sharing the photos. That last photo broke me down/ I almost love it too. Love that you look more content, excited about what you’re doing in her honor. You should be super proud; your community is proud of you! Big hugs. Oh- and yes! I want a t-shirt (great gold choice) 😉
It was a wonderful experience. I can’t wait to be a part of it next year! I decided to organize a jog a thon at our church for the kids and we’re donating all the proceeds to our local organization, Lodi Cancer Kids. It will be in September. I am stoked! The 5k inspired it.
“I almost love this picture.” So powerful.
You did great libby and so did the kids. This blog you sounded very happy and very proud of your accomplishment keep up the good work. I ordered my sissy can’t wait to get it and wear it with pride and support for Jennifer. I know right now Jennifer is so proud of you and she ran right along side of all of you. Big hugs and Angel kisses
<3 Thank you for sharing these wonderful photos.
The last one, with your caption, goose bumps.
I have never left a reply but I need to bring this up. Did anyone at the 5k notice when Libby took the mic just before the run how it got about a thousand times brighter instantly!! I mean this literally. It was overcast that morning and the second that other mom handed over the microphone to Libby the clouds moved and the sun shined this amazing radiant light. I truly believe this soldier mommy is a gift to us by our Lord!! This was GOD showing how proud he is of her. Our Gift! Thank you Elizabeth Kranz you are an inspiration not just to me but many! You will rise from these ashes and do great things. I just know it!! I also know that Jennifer was smiling down saying “That’s my Mommy”! Heaven is for REAL and I can’t wait to meet her one day!!!
I love the shirts you made for your kids.
I just bought the new shirt and I hope to be there next year.
I’m reading all of your posts, cheering you on, sending hugs, and hope you know how much we think of you and your family. <3 <3 <3
Thanks for sharing! Can’t wait to purchase a tank top with the new design to wear all summer! They are perfect! Sending my love!
This is was an amazing eveny Libby…..your family is beautiful…all 6 of you. I will be there for all the future events and run. It meant a lot that you were cheering everyone at the finish line. My 2 year old girl ran the last part of the race and I saw you there and you were cheering her on. That meant a lot to me. My only regret not going up to and let you know how much of an impact your family has made on me. I will build up the courage to talk to you one day.Thank you for sharing these pictures. My niece made a really cute video of my daughter runnning in the race. Not sure if you have instagram but its under the hashtag of #love4jlk Just wanted to share with you somehow.
This event was a wonderful experience for my family at so many levels. I am a busy mother of four and because I share 50:50 custody with my children’s father I do not have as many opportunities as many other mothers do to make memories my children. 4 years later, and this still makes me very sad. But days/events like this give us the opportunity we need to LIVE, and enjoy each other minus the hustle and bustle of our busy schedules. For my family it was an opportunity to feel a little peace in our lives. I read your blog every day Libby and I always pray for the same thing for you and your family…..PEACE….somewhere, somehow, someway….I pray it finds its way to you. Thank you for being a voice for our children and all of us mothers. You rock lady! AND Congrats to you for running your best time.
Wow! You and your family are such an inspiration to all of us! Congratulations on the successful run! Isn’t family amazing? Live and prayers continue from mine to yours! Looking forward to our new shirts being delivered!
Libby our family had so much fun at this event! It was our first time doing a 5k run together & I can’t think of a better cause! My daughter was struggling to finish and Renee came along & showered here with glitter which gave her to boost to go the rest of the way. Never under estimate the power of glitter!! Katie had wanted to meet “Jennifer’s mommy” as we talk about her often (usually when she sees me sad), but time got away from us & she was so enjoying all the fun activities!! We will definately be a part of next years run as well. You are strong, courageous & determined! I’m sure Jennifer is so very proud of you 🙂
Your family is beautiful.
Wow the love and the happiness I saw and sensed in those pictures gave me the chills. You have a beautiful family and what an honor to know you and what a strong and loving woman you are. I love the picture and yes almost the best I have seen. She was there and so proud of what her momma was doing in her honor. Your children are gorgeous. Your little girl is precious!! So young and she seemed so involved. I am so happy you had your family’s support and love that means so much. I pray that your days get better and that you continue speaking and I know you are going to make a difference for Pediatric Cancer for sure. So happy to read how pumped up you were!! You are AMAZING and I am proud to be a follower on your journey. Jennifer has a very special place in my heart and so does your whole family. Love and Hugs to all of you!! <3<3<3<3<3<3
So beautiful. A whole town brought together by one amazing glitter princess. You are doing great work. Glitter on & unravel pediatric cancer!
Libby, This was an amazing event. So many people were there. Glitter Power! You family is beautiful. It was so nice to see you cheering everyone on. My 2 year old daughter ran the last section of the race and you were cheering her on. That meant a lot to me. I’m not sure if you have instagram but my niece made a really cute video of my daughter running in the 5K. She put music to the video and she chose Let her go the Jasmine version. It shocked me that she did since my niece has no idea thats the song from her service. The video is under the hashtag #love4jlk I wanted to share and hope you see it one day. My only regret is not going up to you and inform you how much of an impact you have had on me. One day I will build the courage to do so. I will be at all the future JLK Events and this run will be one that I will do every year. Thank you for sharing the pcitures from the event. It was so much fun! Still thinking and praying for you daily. Forever 6
Thank you for sharing her with us ♡ I had a great time at the run! I wanted to go up to you and your family and just give you a hug but I couldn’t bring myself to do it.
Love this…love your boys and how you can write about EACH of your children…you are amazing.
Your mom looks beautiful and proud and full of love. Truly wonderful photo of a beautiful person. And your family photo, too, is just as beautiful and proud and full of love.. almost. So glad my daughter could be there to run and gain a better understanding of your forever six little girl she has grown to love and “see” in every glint of glitter.

It was a great event!
We were happy to meet you and your family.
Thank you for encouragment to make a difference!
I don’t know you but I came by your blog through a friend who shared Jennifer’s story on Facebook. Once I started reading I could not stop following it – your writing is so powerful, and I so wish that no family had to live this nightmare. Another friend of mine is a Warrior Mom and invited me to Mama’s Night Out with her; you came to mind immediately even though I didn’t know who would be speaking. I’m so glad you spoke that night as yours is a message we all need to hear and you did such a great job speaking truth to power, your truth. I introduced myself afterwards to thank you for sharing (I’m sure you’re overwhelmed by strangers at these events), but I just wanted to say again that I’m so so sorry for the loss of your Jennifer, and let you know that I am spreading the glitter, writing to my congressional reps, telling my friends, thinking of other ways to help. Hugs.
The 5k was AMAZING! As we were running out of the sports park area there was a small hill. As I got to the top I made a point to turn around and look back. It was beautiful to see the hundreds of yellow shirt people running, walking, and pushing strollers. All of us together in the fight to Run Over Childhood Cancer. I will never forget that. Love you.
Lovely photos! Thank you for sharing your experience! Hope to join you in the next race.
Fabuious, fabulous pictures! Sorry I am on the other side of the planet and couldn’t take part. Thank you so much for sharing these, your community looks amazing. Thinking of all of you every day xxx
I’m so glad you were able to share some of your story and that you were able to have your best time. You are making such a difference in the world.
Wish I could have been there! Congratulations on a successful event! I thought of you and your family that day, and hoped it have you some happiness to see the difference you are making and your efforts are so worth every moment!
[…] I wanted so hard.. so much for Jennifer to be the first to survive this thing. There has to be a first and more than I have ever wanted anything in my life I wanted for her to be the first. I shared that wish with Wyatt the moment I first met him in May at a 5k. […]
