The Jennifer Card
"Though I didn’t get to meet Jennifer myself, I feel very connected to her. I can’t really explain it, but I feel like I was meant to meet her mom, Libby, and get to be a part of Unravel. Over the past 5 years, our families have grown close and I feel lucky to call the Kranz’s, our friends.

I’m a designer by trade but, recently, when California went into quarantine, I began playing with elements from nature to create portraits. It started as a fun project to do with my kids, but quickly became a side hobby and passion for me. As I was rifling through some flower petals one day, up popped the idea of combining their shapes to create a dragonfly. That little moment sparked the concept to design a card to support Unravel.

As I played around with the leaves, twigs and flowers, my original concept evolved, and it became so much more than I had planned. It became Jennifer.

I look at the card as a representation of Jennifer’s continued life. Without Jennifer, there would be no Unravel. There, perhaps, wouldn’t be the advancements in science, or the money raised, or the big breakthroughs, without her. All of those things have helped save the lives of so many other children (and will continue to do so for years to come).

As Unravel grows, so does Jennifer’s memory — and she continues to have a great impact on this Earth.
