Sacramento

November 10, 2014

I rarely share photos of the signs we get.. but wanted to share the one above. It was the night before her birthday. A night Tony and I should have been planning ways to show her our love for her.. Instead she sent us her love.. some from Mommy and some for Daddy.

Our birthday trip minus the birthday girl.

She was born in Sacramento. It is a great town with so much to do for our aged kids. We missed her.. terribly.. but we made memories with our living babies while we grieved the one missing.

A lot of time on this trip I was bitter that we didn't get more time.. That we never got the promised honeymoon period. I saw reminders of how it could have been everywhere. .. Handicap entrance to the pool.. Jonathan gravitating to the handicap swing. .. I wish I had gotten the time.

  3. Karen Zoucha says:

Might I add… I can’t help but notice in the picture of the kids where you stayed out late…. I see a J L K in the background. J the pole and the other metal large horizontal over the road street sign holder, L the same pole and the same over the road street sign holder but going the other way (L) and the K the bridge in the background….

  4. Emily says:

Love Sacramento (we are just a little south of it), love the signs from her, love that Nicholas doesn’t wear a shirt, and love your sweatshirt! I can’t wait for the Glitter Shop to open.

I am glad you made memories and were able to celebrate her day, even though she wasn’t with you. Jennifer is proud of her family, I am sure, and all of the hard work you are doing, both for her siblings and for Unravel.

  5. Krista Lund says:

I know you know this…I don’t need to tell you…but it is so unfair and I am so sorry! I will be right by your side fighting this fight. #love4jlk and the Kranz Family ALWAYS!!

  9. Kristina says:

Thank you for sharing some of the signs from Jennifer with us. It makes them seem real, like it isnt just a mind game we play on ourselves. I appreciate your willingness to share.

    Hugs to you all.

  10. Silvia Cummings says:

I love seeing the ways you incorporate Jennifer with your living family, and how you find ways for your living children to continue to remember her. Thank you for sharing such beautiful pictures. I can see so much love in them and each photo tugged at my heart in different ways. Baby Charlotte kissing her baby dolls, they are such sweet children. The Wizard of Oz photo stuck out of course, and it speaks volumes. Sending love and doing what I can to spread awareness, as most people don’t know the statistics as well as be “blind” to the ways cancer research is not being properly funded. I continue to read your posts and send support from across the country.

  11. Karaleen says:

I’ve been following your story since Jennifer was first diagnosed (I was originally asked to pray for your family by Elizabeth Krainman). I have a 6 year old son and a 4 year old daughter…. I can only imagine and I know that my imagination cannot even come close to how you must feel. My heart has broken for you and sent prayers out to your family many many times. Sacramento is my home town. We live about 20 miles from there now….but we take our kids to all those places you mentioned. It is so weird when you follow a story but then that family becomes so much more real when they are in a setting you recognize. I’m sending you many prayers of healing. I do believe in signs….I get them from my mom all the time and they could just not come from anywhere else. Believe that she is with you always.
    Hugs,
    Kd
